  • The town of Barrow-in-Furness is only minutes from the Port and offers a superb maritime museum, golf courses, the best one-stop shopping centre in the South Lakes, Marvel at the ruins of England’s second wealthiest Cistercian Abbey, three international nature reserves and the Lake District's most atmospheric pub located on Piel Island with its own King and Castle.

  • For the more energetic day visitor, we can suggest a day at Bigland Outdoors, you can enjoy a morning course or trout fishing in the two well stocked lakes, tour the estate and enjoy magnificent view of the mountains and the southern end of Windermere, or spend an hour or so skeet or target shooting, or if you prefer an archery lesson.
